Bernina Overlocker Repairs

If you are looking for Bernina Overlocker repairs, you are in the right place. At Bamber Sewing Machines, we service and repair Bernina overlockers in our Eccles workshop and help customers from Manchester and across the UK. Whether your machine has tension problems, cutting issues, broken loopers, poor stitch formation or simply needs a proper service, we offer experienced, honest advice and practical support.

Bernina Overlocker Faults

Bernina overlockers are excellent machines, but like any hardworking overlocker they can conk out, wear with age, or develop faults that need expert attention. We regularly see machines that have been struggling with skipped stitches, thread breakage, noisy running, blunt knives, timing issues or general poor performance. In many cases, a careful service and skilled repair can bring them back into good working order.

Free Estimates

We are happy to assess your Bernina overlocker and provide a Free Estimate, including older and well-used models that still deserve proper attention. Customers often contact us about machines that have become difficult to thread, will not sew properly, cut badly, or no longer produce a balanced stitch. If you are unsure whether your particular Bernina overlocker is economical to repair, we will always provide you with a sensible and honest view.

Common Faults

Thread breaking or looping
Tension won’t balance

Won’t cut properly – leaves a rough edge
Blunt or damaged knives
Noisy or rough running
Feed issues
Timing problems
General wear from years of use

Is it Worth the Cost?

One of the most common questions we hear is whether an older Bernina overlocker is worth repairing. The answer depends on the model, the condition of the machine, the nature of the fault and the overall cost of putting it right. Some machines respond beautifully to a good service and a careful repair. Others may be better replaced. We believe in giving customers an honest opinion, not simply pushing ahead regardless.
Also, with repairs and service work we still follow Dads old philosophy,

“Is it worth our customers money, and our time”

If we feel you’d be wasting your brass on a repair or service, we will tell you.

Regular Servicing Matters…

An overlocker can appear to have a major fault when in reality it is suffering from a combination of wear, incorrect threading, poor tension balance or lack of servicing. Proper maintenance helps keep stitch quality consistent, reduces strain on moving parts and can prevent bigger repairs later on. A well-set Bernina overlocker should run smoothly, cut cleanly and produce a neat, balanced finish.

Bambers are Main Agents for Bernina UK since 1958

At Bamber Sewing Machines, we do not just sell sewing machines. We have a genuine workshop, real repair experience and a long history of helping customers with the machines they rely on. That matters with overlockers, because they are more specialised than standard sewing machines and need careful, informed attention.

Customers bring machines to us because they want clear advice, proper assessment and the reassurance that their Bernina is being looked at by people who understand sewing machinery.
