Steve and I typed in the postcode for The President Hotel and set off on our journey to London. We’ve been staying at the President in Russell Square for over forty years. On this occasion Bogod were introducing the Bernina 790 Pro to a selection of UK dealers. The traffic was steady for most of the way, until of course we got closer to the capital. I always wonder how anyone manages to commute into London, and stay sane.

We arrived at The President and parked the motor in the underground car park. Always so convenient. Once we’d booked in, found our room and unpacked, we headed out to see the town. Everywhere was still packed with tourists, and many of the streets were crowded with people.
The Red Lion
The Red Lion pub on Parliament Street has had many famous customers – Dickens, Attlee and Churchill, to name just a few. Steve and I like it for other reasons. During his Army Days, Dad worked in the War Office. And he would often pop into the Red Lion for a quick pint with his friends. So when we are in London, Steve and I also like to pop in – ‘for a pint with Dad’.
