Bernina Studio Frame Delivery and Build

A phone order for a Bernina Studio Frame was placed by a man who wanted to buy it for his wife. Several years earlier they had purchased the Bernina Q20 from us, along with an electric lift table. However, his wife had outgrown her current setup. Bernina quilters truly enjoy creating. Fortunately for Steve and me, they were relatively local.

Steve and I frequently travel across mainland UK. This time, our trip is a short one to Southport, but the next destination might be Southampton. You just never know.

Bernina Studio Frame Personal Delivery Service

We offer a Personal Delivery Service, and we like to test and check everything beforehand. So we part build the Bernina Studio Frame up in our store. This allows us to check alignments and carry out a full component check, all of which is of vital importance.

Bernina Studio Frame Set Up

The morning began with Scrambled Eggs on Toast. Stevie’s culinary skills are quite extraordinary. On arrival at customers address it’s time to carefully unload all the various pieces that make up the Bernina Studio Frame. Steve and I carefully carry everything upstairs to our customers ‘Sewing Room’. In this case we are delivering the ten foot Studio Frame. It’s a mighty beast and requires a very large room to accommodate it’s length and breadth.

It’s a Family Thing…

We begin the process of building up and it helps that there are two of us. Mind you. Steve and I have always worked together. We’re brothers, we love each other and we love our family business. Which also means – we love what we do and we take care and pride in our work. We want our customers to be happy and to feel we have served them well. Whether they buy a packet of pins, or a great big Bernina Studio Frame.

We offer old fashioned customer service. Like Dad taught us.

The Bernina Q20 Setup

The Bernina Q20 Setup involves two base runners being attached. This enables the Q20 to glide across the Studio Frame table. We then recheck the level of the table using a spirit level. When the build and the tests are complete.

Final Sew Test

Steve carries out a number of sewing tests. He checks the BSR system to ensure it works. He tests the controls built into the front set of handles. Our customer also ordered the Bernina Pantograph System. So we also fit the screen and test the system using the Rear Handles.

Everything works a treat so it’s time to invite our customer to test and try her new Bernina Studio Frame for herself. She is an expert quilter and immediately puts her Bernina Q20 through it’s paces on the new frame. She declares herself happy. Steve and I remind her that we are always on hand for help and advice.

So with that, it’s time to clear away all the boxes, polystyrene and bubblewrap. It all goes into the back of the van to be returned to base for recycling. Time for one last photo of the Bernina Studio Frame complete with the Bernina Q20.
