The Bernina 1000 Bulb is a standard screw-in type. We like the RIVA make for their strength and durability. One reason to choose the RIVA brand of bulb is the size. Years of heating up and cooling down can sometimes lead to a bulb becoming stuck in the lamp holder. The Bernina bulb remover will grip the glass on a RIVA bulb. This will give you a better chance to remove the bulb. The bulb remover will not grip smaller bulbs.
