Your Bernina 808 foot control will one say enough is enough and give up the ghost. The original type is no longer available and neither is the internal carbon pile rheostat. Panic might set in and you may at first reach for a stiff Lucozade. Then you will begin a search on Google and, eventually, you will find me and a replacement foot control. The sun will shine and all will be well. Lovely.
Instructions to Fit.
1. Un-plug everything
2. Using wire cutters, snip off the two pin plug that you normally insert into your foot control.
3. Using a Stanley knife, make a straight shallow incision about an inch long from the cut edge of the outer sheathing. Take care not to cut the two internal wires.
4. Peel back the outer sheathing to the length of the incision and cut away.
