Another early start for Steve and I as we head to a Brother PR Service in Scotland. Heading north is always a welcome change from our regular trips ‘down south’. Once you pass the turn off for Blackpool, and the M55, the motorway usually clears to light traffic. There are fewer hold ups and traffic jams, and the scenery grows nicer.
Soon enough we are climbing through green hills and grazing sheep. Little stone farmhouses dot the landscape and we begin to spot more and more Landrovers. And then it’s Tebay Services and our first stop on the journey. We sit in the van and tuck into our packed lunch for breakfast, and pour the first coffee of the day.
The far away hills are shrouded in autumnal mists that join the land to the sky. And the crisp taste of the cooler season is a welcome relief for me.
Scotland is beautiful and beats the scenery of the M25 hands down. Especially when there are hands glued down onto the M25 and you’re stuck in the tailback. We arrive at our customers unit just outside Glasgow. A nice chap I first met back in 2017 greets us with a friendly smile. He’s certainly progressed since then and business is booming.

After some chat it is decided that we will collect six of our chaps Brother PR machines. Each one of them is in need of our expert care. And this Brother PR Service in Scotland trip justifies the need for the larger van. We have a number of smaller vehicles, but as Steve likes to say – ‘You’ve either got a big van, or you haven’t’.
We set about loading all six into the back of the VW. It’s just a detail, but we bought a thickly corded carpet for the floor of the van. It’s great at holding the PR’s we collect in place.
All six loaded, we say our goodbyes and head for home. Each of these Brother PR machines will go through our workshop process. They will all be stripped down to their internal mechanisms and fully serviced. Many Brother PR owners call on us to service and repair their machines. Steve and I cover the entire country and step out on our trips every Wednesday.
