Todays job, two Brother PR service calls, in Walsall & Rutland. Steve and I had collected the machines the previous week, and left our customers with a loan PR machine each. The day began with a nicely turned out piece of toast. Not underdone, not overdone, just right and nice. Coffee, as per. So, a trip down to Black Country – in this case Walsall, and then across to Rutland, offered some scenic driving along winding A & B roads. A relatively short trip down the M6, with the usual stop at a service station for a stretch of the legs and a coffee. Then onto our first call to see Suzanne at Jonty Equestrian. Suzanne calls us in each year to collect her PR670e for service, just before the winter bites too deep.
We move on… This time we drive across to Amanda, in Rutland. The countryside views are nice and, as always, make a pleasant change from the M6, M1, M25, M11 etc. etc. etc. We journey through small towns and villages, and quiet eery hamlets where you don’t see people walking about the place. But there are plenty of interesting buildings – pubs, cottages and old village halls and the like.
Sitting with Amanda and her cute little dogs and chatting over a cup of tea was very pleasant indeed. I’d first visited her several years before, when I delivered her new machine. Now, I was back again, but this time returning her machine from service. It’s always nice to see people again- and listen to their stories. Once we finish the tea and the chat, we say our goodbyes and set off for home. A straight forward run with little or no traffic – for. change.
