Many moons ago our Dad took his Volkswagen minibus to a VW garage for service. When he collected it, a few days later, he was presented with a long and comprehensive ‘check-list’. It itemised every single check and test carried out on the vehicle. So when he got home he sketched out a similar list for all the sewing machines we serviced and repaired. He gave it to me (I’m Alan Bamber, by the way) and told me to compose the check list on my Adana printing press and ‘start printing’. That was back in the early 1970’s.

These days it’s all computers and kids don’t climb trees anymore.

We still follow Dads old check list and as a result our workshop is always busy.

We are open Monday – Saturday from 9am until 5pm.
Between 9 and 9:10 is the time we have a cup of tea and at 4:55pm we’re all thinking of home and a bath in front of the fire.
