Janome Memorycraft 6600P
A very tough cookie…
The janome 6600P is a superb semi-industrial machine with a longer bed, making it very useful for both Quilters and for professional users. It is easy to control, even though its top speed is Faster than most normal machines. It has the usual Janome 7 point feeder, allowing it to feed easily over cross seams etc.
It also has a built-in dual feed for use on certain stitches. This is a very good feature, but we feel it should not be used on everything. Contrary to the advertising blurb, the dual feed device will not help you sew over denim cross seams! This said, the machine is a superb buy, with great features and a favourite with Quilters.
It is built to last, has a huge range of stitches, has up/down needle stop selection and the Janome scissor action to cut off threads automatically at the end of your seam. (You can actually program the machine to do, say, a name, finish at the end of the name and cut both top and bottom threads ready to remove the work from the machine!!!).
Buy it, but don’t buy it just because of the dual feed system or you may be disappointed. Janome call this feature ACUFEED.
