Spotted this Pfaff 1471 in the workshop the other day. Shahid was giving the 1471 a full service. It reminded me of the time, back in the early 1980’s, when my brother and I spent a week on a technical training course at the Pfaff factory in Karlsruhe, in Germany. Mr Mock and Mr Zipper were the two teachers and very strict they were with all their students. Every setting on each mechanism had to be perfect
No wonder the Germans make such good cars etc.
Despite its age the Pfaff 14 series is still a regular visitor to our workshops and many customers bring theirs in every year for service and repair.
At the end of the weeks training we were all treated to an afternoon at a local Oktoberfest. Much beer and nosh was consumed and it remains a happy memory.
