Welcome to the Bambers Blog

This Riccar Reliant 88 came in for repair just before the 2020 Coronavirus Lockdown in the UK. I took the photo as it was left, partly stripped, on one of the benches in our workshop. When we finally re-open we can finish the job.
I remember my father and I travelled to the Riccar distribution warehouse somewhere in Oxfordshire back in the 1980’s. We stocked and sold a number of their machines, including the Riccar 924DR overlocker. They were all well made sewing machines and many have stood the test of time.

So, although this Riccar Reliant 88 is thirty something years old, it is still worth the cost of a repair or service. Dad had a maxim, well in fact he had many, but the one he use for workshop repairs was – Is it worth our customers money, and our time. It’s a philosophy that Steve and I still employ today. A machine may well be old, but if we know that a service or repair will extend the life of the machine, and offer the customer good service, we will advise you to spend your money.

When we finally do return to ‘normal’ we will phone our customer with a free estimate, and tell he or she that their machine is still worth it.

We still supply the various consumable parts for the Riccar Reliant 88.
