Festival of Quilts

This year, (2010) we decided to take some of the ladies from our Quilt Club to the Festival of Quilts exhibition. Kathryn, our quilt club teacher, organised a mini-bus and before we knew it, we were headed down the M6 to Birmingham. Luckily for Steve and I, all the girls on the bus behaved themselves. No one started a fight over the boiled sweets, no hair was pulled and no one felt sick.

As usual, the exhibition was pretty packed out with visitors from all over the world. Every stand seemed to have a clutch of people around it having a good look at what was on offer.

Janome sewing machines had, what we thought, the best stand at the show. One of the big draws on the day was the new Janome Horizon 7700, a perfect ‘long-arm’ machine for quilters.

There were hundreds of fabulous quilts on show. Some of them must have taken months if not years to produce. Hat’s off to their designers.
