Blimey, I think our sewing machine store is fit to burst. We’ve packed it with so many fabulous sewing machines, overlockers, as well as haberdashery, and fabrics etc. we’re beginning to run out of space.
We are only 500 yards or so from junction 11 of the M60 motorway. The Trafford Centre is at junction 10, by way of reference.
This shot is of the first floor where we keep all our haberdashery including, zips, threads, Bernina accessories, Janome accessories and Brother accessories. We also keep large stocks of Hemline haberdashery and Sirdar hand knitting yarns. Not to mention large stocks of sewing patterns from Butterick, McCalls, Vogue and Simplicity.
This shot is of our classroom. We hold a wide range of sewing workshops in this room. As well as Maggie’s ever popular Overlocker Day Course, we have Kathryn’s Quilt Club which is just as popular. Our customers also benefit from regular workshops held by Lorna Knight and Celia Banks.
This is our quilt fabric room. We keep quite a range of quilt fabrics, fat quarters and wadding in stock. The girls are always ordering new fabrics and Steve has just placed an order from a supplier in New Zealand. We are expecting delivery of this exciting new range of quilt fabrics sometime in May.
This is our fabric room, we’ve got all sorts in it from polycottons, fleece, furry animal prints to faux leathers, or PVC if you’d prefer. Anyway, fabric is selling! We could really do with a larger room to stock and display even more fabrics. We’ve made an offer for the premises next door so you never know…we may be knocking even more walls down.
On the ground floor is our sewing machine showroom. We are main agents for Bernina, Janome and Brother the best three makes of domestic sewing machines. You can call in, sit down and try any machine you like. It’s is the best way to find the sewing machine that’s right for you.
Also on the ground floor is our sewing machine workshop where we carry out hundreds if not thousands of repairs to sewing machines and overlockers each year. As well as carrying out repairs to privately owned sewing machines, we are a service contractor to schools and colleges throughout the Northwest of England. Dad started the business from repairing and rebuilding sewing machines and the repair of sewing machines is still a big part of our family business.
You can buy a sewing machine from lots of places, but where can you get a good quality repair – Bambers of course! Believe it or not we get a lot of sewing machine repairs through the post. Customers from all over the UK send us their treasured Bernina, Janome, Brother, Pfaff, Singer, Frister Rossmann etc. etc. because they know we do an excellent job.
We are also a Horn Supercentre, which means we have a good range of Horn cabinets on display These cabinets are excellent quality, last forever and provide a stylish storage system for your sewing machine and sewing paraphenalia.
At the back of the shop we’ve got this small car park. It’s so handy to be able to park your motor and not have to worry about wardens and clampers etc. You can then spend as long as you like mooching about in our store.
